The England national team returned to action on Thursday as they faced the Hungarian players in an interesting encounter that saw the humiliation of the home side. It ended 4-0 in favour of the three lions.

They continued their 100 percent winning streak in the ongoing qualifiers for the 2022 world cup in Qatar after previous victories against San Marino, Albania and Poland back in March.

Raheem sterling opened the scoring in the 56th minute of the second half after a goalless first half. Shortly after that, Raheem sterling provided a beautiful assist that saw Harry Kane netting in the 63rd minute. The rain of goals and jubilation started as two more goals were further scored in the 69th and 87th minutes of the game by Harry Maguire and Declan Rice respectively, bringing the score line to 4-0 in favour of the English side.

It was a total annihilation of the opposing team and a victory well deserved, but the ecstasy of this triumph certainly will not be enough to erase the memories of the  defeat they suffered in the hand of the Italian national team at the just concluded European Championship that denied them the trophy.

However, they still remain title contenders for any competition, and winning the world cup in 2022 surly would suffice for a perfect solace.
